Ellie Nixon has been an Eldercare
Consultant with LivHOME since 2001. Before joining LivHOME, she was
Patient and Family Services Director for Autumn Years Alzheimer’s
Care Communities and several assisted living communities in Orange
County. Before moving to Orange County, Ellie held the position of
Community Development Director for The American Cancer Society., San
Fernando Valley Unit. Ellie is a columnist on the issues of aging
for Huntington Beach Magazine and speaks to groups on subjects
relating to aging and dementia.
She is very active with the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County
where she is currently serving as a Family Support Group
Co-facilitator for 2 support groups in Huntington Beach and serves
on the Patient and Family Services committee. Ellie also sits on the
Board of Directors of the Women’s Council of the Long Beach Chamber
of Commerce and is President of “The Friends of Alzheimer’s
Caregivers” , a charity providing grants for respite care to
families who care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s . She also holds
membership in NAWBO, Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, Women in
Senior Care and the North Orange County Senior Network, South Orange
County Senior Connection. Sits of the Orange County Task Force on
Hoarding and is a Soroptimist.
Ellie, who was widowed in 2000, has 2 grown children and 2 grandsons
and shares her home with two roommates of the feline persuasion.
