Members Participate in Paint
Your Heart Out Project 2005
Freda Matsuda and Phyllis Nichols
participated in the Paint Your Heart Out project in April
and May. Sponsored by Freda’s husband Keene’s
company,CH2MHill,this project paints homes and performs
landscaping work for elderly homeowners in Anaheim. The
homeowner had a lifetime of junk accumulated in and around
his home which took some time to remove. Once the clean up
was finished, prep work began on the home. Two weeks later,
the home was painted a cheery yellow with white trim and the
garden beds filled with river rock, tan bark and plants. The
homeowner was delighted and both Freda and Phyllis are
nursing their sore muscles and stiff backs, but they had a
fun time and felt so good about what they accomplished.
Maybe we could get a Soroptimist contingent together for
next year’s project.
