SIHB’s Women of Distinction luncheon, held May 12th at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, was a delightful event honoring women who have made outstanding achievements in their professional, business, or voluntary activities relating to at least one of the Soroptimist International programs of service.
The honorees were: Mary Lou Shattuck, Education, Ulla Ann-Marie Herman, Health, Shari Freidenrich, Economic and Social Development, Maureen Sloan James, International Goodwill & Understanding, Erin Runnion, Human Rights & Status of Women, Myldred E. Jones & Judy Klabouch, Women Helping Women, Charles (Chuck) Tozzer, D.D.S, Advancing the Status of Women.
We also honored our Soroptimist of the Year – Cindy Ford, the recipient of our Violet Richardson Award – Rachel Garlington and our Women’s Opportunity Award recipient was Mirjana Dujanovic.
The honorees received numerous award plaques, flowers and a beautiful engraved crystal vase. Piano entertainment was courtesy of - Miss HB 2006, Summer Dawn Maue.
The 2006 Women of Distinction Committee were: Nouha Hreish, Chair, Cindy Ford, Dianne Harmon, Lisa Loughran, Freda Matsuda, Cherie Miranda, Ellie Nixon, Debbie Stock and Jody Marquez Wood. Thank you ladies, for organizing a beautiful event!
