SIHB’s Women of Distinction luncheon, held April 19, 2007 at the
Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, was a delightful event honoring
women who have made outstanding achievements in their professional,
business, or voluntary activities relating to at least one of the
Soroptimist International programs of service. The honorees were:
Eve Thompson – Health, Donna Gray - Economic and Social Development,
Theresa E. Murphy - Human Rights & Status of Women, Barbara Enlow -
Women Helping Women.
We also honored our Soroptimist of the Year – Phyllis Nichols, the
recipient of our Violet Richardson Award – Kellie Kawaguchi and our
Women’s Opportunity Award recipient was Chelsea Smith.
The honorees received numerous award plaques, flowers and a
beautiful engraved crystal vase.
The 2007 Women of Distinction Committee were: Nouha Hreish, Chair,
Cindy Ford, Dianne Harman, Maureen Sloan James, Lisa Loughran,
Cherie Miranda, Ellie Nixon, Denise Sonnenberg & Jody Marquez Wood.
